At St. Paul’s we welcome families with children to take a full and active role in our worship and community.
Sunday Groups take place in the Church Hall or School during part of the 9.30am Sunday Service in term time:-
Periodically we also run a ‘Junior Church’ where all our young people can join together in an act of worship specifically for them, which runs alongside the usual 9.30am Sunday Service.
For older children (13+) a Youth Group meets in the Vicarage on Sunday evenings at 7.30pm.
Parent/Carer and Child Worship Area
For children too young to attend one of the Sunday Groups we also have a Parent/ Carer and Child Worship Area in the Wilberforce Centre.
This replaces the crèche facility in the church hall. It is an area for adults to bring their children and at the same time be able to participate in the service through an audio/visual link. In this way those with younger children who prefer not to stay in the body of the Church, or those that feel their children may be disturbing the worship of others can still participate fully in the Service. Members of the Wilberforce Centre congregation will be guided back up to the church for communion and blessings at the appropriate time.
The area will be supervised by 2 volunteers each week, but a parent or carer must remain with their children during the service.
A collection will be made during the offertory hymn.
The area is designed primarily for babies and pre school children.
Older children will not be encouraged to use the area. They will be directed to attend the regular Sunday groups in the school and church hall.
A first aid box is available in the Wilberforce Centre kitchen. Parents/ carers should administer any first aid.
Drinking water is available from the kitchen.
Baby change facilities are available in the disabled toilet. Please do not leave any nappies in the toilet bins.
Thank you for your full co-operation.
